Product Description
Duct Coupler – 4-Bolt Design with Seal, DC-10 & DC-20 Series
The DC-10 & DC-20 Series duct couplers feature a durable aluminum, split four-bolt clam-shell design that makes it easy to access cable after installation. If needed, the coupler can be removed to allow slack coils to be jetted to any point along the duct run. This makes it the recommended choice for placing slack coils or maintenance loops. Designed for multiple uses, the coupler is re-usable, reducing cost per installation.
To install, the squared duct ends are aligned and held in place. A sealing material is wrapped around the joint, and the bottom threaded section of the coupler is positioned beneath the duct and centered with the seal. The top half is then placed over and secured with four bolts, ensuring a tight fit.
General Specifications & Features:
- Aluminum alloy 4-bolt construction
- Air- and water-tight seal
- Allows access to installed cable
- Re-usable across multiple applications
- Transition coupler sizes available
Size: 3 1/4″ x 4″ x 3 1/2″ installed
Material: Corrosion-resistant aluminum
Weight: 1-1/2 lbs.
Bolts: 4 each stainless steel- 5/16-18NC x 1 1/4″ long
Tension Requirement: Annular pointed ridges on the inside of the coupler cause an interference fit with the outside of the duct creating a joint that takes a minimum of 4,000 lbs. to pull apart.
Air Sealing Requirement: 1/4″ thick x 3/4″ wide adhesive backed foam tape at the joint will exceed the requirement of a cable-air duct run: no more than a 20 psi drop in pressure in two minutes starting from a sealed pressure 100-130 psi.
Special Requirement: The coupler can be machined to connect two ducts of different outside diameters allowing for transition from one pipe size to another.
DC-10-1.66: SDR11, 1 ¼” I.D. S.Wall
