The APT M131 Backfill Tamper is a versatile and durable tool designed for demanding applications such as foundation repair, pavement patching, asphalt compaction, and setting power or telephone poles. Engineered for reliability and ease of use, it delivers consistent performance across a wide range of backfilling and compaction tasks.

Features:

• Built-in automatic oiler for consistent lubrication and reduced maintenance
• Flapper valve design allows dirt and debris to pass through without interrupting operation
• Available with your choice of butt style:

• • 6" diameter internally reinforced malleable iron butt

  • 3" diameter solid butt

  • Pole (half-moon) butt

Air Pressure:

The recommended operating air pressure for APT tools is 90 psi (6.2 bar).

• Operating below this pressure will reduce power output.
• Excessive pressure may increase stress and wear on the tool.
  For proper CFM ratings, refer to the manufacturer’s specification chart.

Hose Size:

• Use a minimum of ½” inside diameter hose to ensure adequate airflow.
• For portable compressors or extended hose runs, a ¾” hose is recommended.
• Keep hose length as short as possible to minimize pressure loss.

Connecting Hoses:

• Hoses must be rated for at least 250 psi (17.2 bar).
• Before connecting, always check the tool inlet for dirt or debris to prevent contamination.
  Maintaining clean air connections ensures long-term tool performance and dependability.
