DCD Design Pullback Swivel - Type 2 Clevis
The Type 2 Clevis Pullback Swivel is the most commonly used style, ideal for distributing side loads due to its ability to pivot at both ends. Before resuming rotation, ensure the line is pulled straight to avoid damage to the swivel and to prevent potential harm to operators.
DCD recommends using a restrictor to prevent excessive pivoting at the front or reamer end. For swivels ranging from 00503-202 to 00503-215, the clevis at the leading end is designed deeper, with a foolproof lug system that limits the swivel’s movement, ensuring it pulls in the correct direction. For optimal performance, DCD advises selecting a swivel with a larger capacity than the machine’s rating.
00503-204 to 00503-215, the clevis is deeper at the leading end to allow the fool-proof design of a lug that would prevent more than minimal movement of the swivel away from the axis of rotation and also ensures the swivel is pulled in the right direction.
It is our recommendation to always select a swivel larger than the machine capacity.
